These places, flop houses, boarding homes, rooming homes, some just call them slums were homes for those who were too poor to afford a decent place. The tenants came from different backgrounds, students who needed a cheap place, those who were unable to be gainfully employed due to disability or mental illness or some other reason and those who were elderly. Every large American city had these places. But thanks to government regulations and a sharp increase in crime, these and other places that were once affordable are now disapearing.
There are several reasons for the decline of affordable housing units such as rooming houses. One of the largest is a declining growth of new housing. Liberals don't want developers building affordable housing units on prestene woods and fields inhabited by animals and plants so the ones we have now fill up and with the demand growing higher than the supply, they either become too expensive or not available.
Another is taxation on property. Landlords can simply pass those costs on the tentants. Then there is the fact that land lords can't evict trouble makers and they in turn destroy neighborhoods. Then the locals prevent new housing from being created and the problem becomes more out of control.
There are 4 cities in particular where the problem is felt most. Boston, Omaha, Denver and Los Angeles.
In Boston, over 96% of rooming houses in the city as well as neighboring Worcester and Providence Rhode Island have been lost due largely to criminal activity. In the 1980s, they were being converted by tenents into Meth labs, crack houses, brothels and became the residence of many hardened criminals. Thanks to liberals, landlords could not evict them or prevent felons from renting. The problem grew and the buildings were later shut down by the police and new buildings were blocked by NIMBYS who did not want criminals next door to them. The result is an explosion of Homelessness in the region. Massachusettes spends more money trying to combat homelessness than any other state. Boston is one of the homeless capitals of the nation with over 6000. Rivaled only by Seattle, NYC, Phoenix, San Francisco and LA.
The city of Omaha Nebraska also once had several rooming houses and affordable housing. The city landlords tend to charge heavy leases to would be tenants and many rely on boarding houses. Although landlords have more power to evict trouble makers, taxation has taken a toll. The city of Omaha is currently constructing a new stadium and to pay for it, it has leveled a hotel tax. Some boarding houses are also among the unlucky ones who are getting it. Boarding houses throughout the region face closing or higher costs. Some have fled to neighboring Council Bluffs Iowa to escape. This will no doubt push the cost of living up there as well.
Denver and Los Angelese is another good example of how environmentalism contributes to poverty. The city of Denver is stradled between the rockies and the great plains while Los Angeles lies within mostly open desert. The problem? Liberal environmentalwhackos don't want that wide open prestine field to be taken up. The ecology and well being of bugs and animals and the few trees growing matter more than the homeless. Denver and in particular LA have an explosion of homeless.
Los Angeles is considered the largest 3rd world city in America. in the county alone there are 80,000 homeless! Most are congregated in the areas of East central LA, and Mac Arthur Park with large encampments in Redondo Beach. LA also has the problem with out of control taxation and regualtion as well as a large influx of immigrants both legal and illegal that take homes and jobs away from Americans.
Here in Maine where I live the problem has also grown. Maine has the largest government and 3rd largest tax burden as well as massive environmental regulation. Because of this, new housing has been difficult to come across and with increases in property tax, the problem has gotten worse. 10 years ago it was easy to rent a home for 350$ or 420$. Now the homes cost at least 500$ and the price is growing steadely.
This holiday season, if you are among the many experiencing unemployment, homelessness, scratching and surviving and higher bills, thank Barack Obama and his Democrat commrades.

In the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the Dutch established colonies in South Africa and Madagascar to supply trading fleets heading towards its colonies in Indonesia. South Africa became more than just an outpost terminus, but a land where people could flee persecution similar to North America. The early pioneers or voortrekkers as they were later called were French Huguenots, British Puritans and Dutch reformists. From the beginning there were many hardships in the colonies.
In addition to later incidents of racial intolerance that would later give way to Apartheid, there was a lack of resources. Settlers decimated local ecology and lead to the extinction of several creatures such as the Dodo bird and left Madagascar a wasteland. In South Africa, Christian sects clashed over interpretation of scripture and with hostile native tribes such as the Zulu. Furthermore, Great Britain made incursions into South Africa driving many of the Dutch colonists or Boers as they were known further inland into Africa's unexplored and untamed wilderness.
In the nineteenth century, the Dutch Boers, who had embraced puritanism began to feel more and more threatened by influences from the outside. The enlightenment and the rise of humanism which became even more apparent with the arrival of British colonists and administrators. The British blockaded the harbor at Natal and prevent shipments of food and ammunition from reaching them. This motivated the Voortrekers even more to settle further into Natal.
The greatest obstacle facing the Vorrtrekers were the Zulus, lead by a brilliant leader named Dingaan kaSenzangakhona. The Voortrekers sent their leader Piet Retief along with 69 men to negotiate with Dingane to settle in an area of Natal that encompassed the southern region of Zululand. Dingane agreed in exchange for aiding the recovery of stolen cattle from an opposing tribe. Retief was in high spirits at the prospect of negotiating a land deal for his people with Dingaan. The party arrived back at the royal Zulu capital uMgundlovu on 3 February 1838. On the following day, a treaty was signed, whereby Dingaan ceded all the land south of the Thukela River, as far as the Mzimvubu River, in the Transkei, to the Voortrekkers
On 6 February, Retief and his party were treated to a farewell dance by the Zulu impis. They were told to leave their firearms outside the royal kraal. Little did they know that Dingaan suspected that the Voortekers had withheld some of the cattle. Suddenly, when the dancing had reached a frenzied climax, Dingaan leapt to his feet and shouted "Bambani aba thakathi!" Or, "Kill the wizards!" Unarmed and outnumbered, the men were totally overpowered and dragged away to a hill called kwaMatiwane, named after a chief who had been killed there. Retief and his men were savagely executed.
After this, the Zulus launched a ferocious attack against Voortreker settlements. Over 500 men women and children were killed. The Voortrekers were not deterred and asked for help from Andreis Pretorius to leave Cape colony to come to their aid against Dingane. Pretorius like Dingane was brilliant strategist and knew all the tricks and traps of the zulus had such as ambushing riders in narrow canyons.
On December 15th, the voortrekers crossed the Buffalo river and scouts reported an incoming force of Zulus lead by Dungaan. One of Pretorius' lieutenants, suggested riding out the attack but he felt it might be a trap and knew they could not outrun the force so he chose to camp at the Ncome river for a rear protection. The ox wagons were circled into what was known as a laager between which there were several removable barriers mad The of wood to prevent intruders from entering. The men were armed with rifles and two cannons.
On the morning of December 16th 1838, the Voortrekers awoke to the sight of over 10,000 Zulu. "all of Zululand sat there" said one witness. Before the battle commenced according to tradition, the settlers had made a vow to God that if He should deliver them, they would build a church in his name and in the name of their fallen leader Piet Retief and commemorate the day as a Sabbath.
During the first phase of the attack, the Zulu repeatedly and unsuccessfully attacked the laager. The attackers were hindered by a change introduced during Shaka's rule, which replaced most of the longer throwing spears with short stabbing spears. The stabbing spear provided obvious advantages in close combat over its longer cousin. Still, the settlers faced a barrage of throwing spears which the Zulu could throw over 50 feet.
A Zulu eyewitness said that their first charge was mowed down like grass by the single-shot Boer muskets. This is because the Voortrekkers had brought the full power of the firepower they had by having servants reload other muskets, allowing a single rifleman and a band of servants to fire approximately a shot every 5 seconds. Mackenzie claims that 200 indigenous servants looked after the horses and cattle and helped load muskets. It was a rare moment in South Africa's racially tense history that black and whites fought in unity against a common foe.
After two hours and four waves of attack, Pretorius ordered a group of horsemen to leave the encampment and engage the Zulu in order to disintegrate their formations. The Zulu withstood the charge for some time, but rapid losses led them to scatter. They hunted the Zulus for three hours.
When it was all over, Bantjes recorded that about 3,000 dead Zulu had been counted, and only three Trekkers with minor to moderate injuries among them Pretorius who had injured his hand by a spear while pursuing the fleeing Zulu. Four days after the battle, the commando arrived at the Zulu Capital which had been deserted and burned. The recovered the remains of Piet Retief and the other Voortrekers and buried them near where the Voortreker Memorial is. It is also there where they built their church.
The day of the Battle December 16th is a national holiday in South Africa known as the day of the vow. After 1994, president Nelson Mandela declared it the day of reconciliation.
Military historians are baffled by the great victory. Many point out that although Dungaan was a brilliant strategist, he made several errors. One was that he had relied more on close combat than ranged. The other is that he chose to attack during the day instead of at night. The Zulus were superstitious about attacking at night and during cloudy or foggy days. Others point out that the Laager defense hindered attacks against the Voortrekers. The wagons obstructed much of their throwing spears and the barriers they establish blocked them from entering. Many also point out that 3000 dead Zulus were not large enough and that less were killed.
Many however, especially those descended from the Voortrekers view the victory as a miracle. One story by a woman who aided in arming the settlers told of a cloud that hung over the Laager that was glowing and a voice came out assuring her safety. She noted that as she gathered ammunition, spears rained down in every direction yet she was not harmed.
It should also be noted that 30 years later, a Zulu force less than half the strength that fought against the band oof settlers annihilated an entire British column of the 24th foot regiment on the hills of Islhandwana. The British militery, the most powerful at the time and armed with the most modern in weaponry stood no chance against 4000 zulus and their march towards Natal was stopped only by a small platoon in the trade outpost of Rorke's drift and due to an attrition of supplies and exhaustion.
In the opinion of this writer, it was indeed a miracle as with other battles in history where small numbers overcame greater force. The Battles of bloody river, the battles of the past and the future whether it is D-Day, Midway, Ticonderoga, Rorke's drift, the Six day War, Thermopyle, Jericho, Waterloo, Stalingrad, Mons, Hastings, Agincourt, or others, divine providence is one force that arm chair generals, warlords and military historians need not leave out in the final outcome of great wars and battles.

"I sincerely believe... that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity under the name of funding is but swindling futurity on a large scale." --Thomas Jefferson to John Taylor, 1816. ME 15:23
"[With the decline of society] begins, indeed, the bellum omnium in omnia [war of all against all], which some philosophers observing to be so general in this world, have mistaken it for the natural, instead of the abusive state of man. And the fore horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in its train wretchedness and oppression." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, 1816. ME 15:40
The Nation's Credit
"Though much an enemy to the system of borrowing, yet I feel strongly the necessity of preserving the power to borrow. Without this, we might be overwhelmed by another nation, merely by the force of its credit." --Thomas Jefferson to the Commissioners of the Treasury, 1788. ME 6:423
"I am anxious about everything which may affect our credit. My wish would be, to possess it in the highest degree, but to use it little. Were we without credit, we might be crushed by a nation of much inferior resources, but possessing higher credit." --Thomas Jefferson to George Washington, 1788. ME 6:453
"Though I am an enemy to the using our credit but under absolute necessity, yet the possessing a good credit I consider as indispensable in the present system of carrying on war. The existence of a nation having no credit is always precarious." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1788. ME 6:455
"I wish it were possible to obtain a single amendment to our Constitution. I would be willing to depend on that alone for the reduction of the administration of our government; I mean an additional article taking from the Federal Government the power of borrowing. I now deny their power of making paper money or anything else a legal tender. I know that to pay all proper expenses within the year would, in case of war, be hard on us. But not so hard as ten wars instead of one. For wars could be reduced in that proportion; besides that the State governments would be free to lend their credit in borrowing quotas." --Thomas Jefferson to John Taylor, 1798. ME 10:64
The Limits on Contracting Debt
"The term of redemption must be moderate, and at any rate within the limits of [the government's] rightful powers. But what limits, it will be asked, does this prescribe to their powers? What is to hinder them from creating a perpetual debt? The laws of nature, I answer. The earth belongs to the living, not to the dead. The will and the power of man expire with his life, by nature's law." --Thomas Jefferson to John Wayles Eppes, 1813. ME 13:169
"We acknowledge that our children are born free; that that freedom is the gift of nature, and not of him who begot them; that though under our care during infancy, and therefore of necessity under a duly tempered authority, that care is confided to us to be exercised for the preservation and good of the child only; and his labors during youth are given as a retribution for the charges of infancy. As he was never the property of his father, so when adult he is sui juris, entitled himself to the use of his own limbs and the fruits of his own exertions: so far we are advanced, without mind enough, it seems, to take the whole step." --Thomas Jefferson to John Wayles Eppes, 1813. ME 13:357
"Then I say, the earth belongs to each of these generations during its course, fully and in its own right. The second generation receives it clear of the debts and incumbrances of the first, the third of the second, and so on. For if the first could charge it with a debt, then the earth would belong to the dead and not to the living generation. Then, no generation can contract debts greater than may be paid during the course of its own existence." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1789. ME 7:455, Papers 15:393
"[Using], for instance, the table of M. de Buffon, [it can be determined that] the half of those of 21 years and upwards living at any one instant of time will be dead in 18 years, 8 months, or say 19 years as the nearest integral number. Then 19 years is the term beyond which neither the representatives of a nation nor even the whole nation itself assembled can validly extend a debt... With respect to future debts, would it not be wise and just for [a] nation to declare in [its] constitution that neither the legislature nor the nation itself can validly contract more debt than they may pay within their own age, or within the term of 19 years? And that all future contracts shall be deemed void as to what shall remain unpaid at the end of 19 years from their date?" --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1789. Papers 15:394
"The conclusion then, is, that neither the representatives of a nation, nor the whole nation itself assembled, can validly engage debts beyond what they may pay in their own time." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1789. ME 7:457, Papers 15:398n
"I suppose that the received opinion, that the public debts of one generation devolve on the next, has been suggested by our seeing, habitually, in private life, that he who succeeds to lands is required to pay the debts of his predecessor; without considering that this requisition is municipal only, not moral, flowing from the will of the society, which has found it convenient to appropriate the lands of a decedent on the condition of a payment of his debts; but that between society and society, or generation and generation, there is no municipal obligation, no umpire but the law of nature." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1789. ME 7:458, Papers 15:395
"Funding I consider as limited, rightfully, to a redemption of the debt within the lives of a majority of the generation contracting it; every generation coming equally, by the laws of the Creator of the world, to the free possession of the earth He made for their subsistence, unincumbered by their predecessors, who, like them, were but tenants for life." --Thomas Jefferson to John Taylor, 1816. ME 15:18
"[The natural right to be free of the debts of a previous generation is] a salutary curb on the spirit of war and indebtment, which, since the modern theory of the perpetuation of debt, has drenched the earth with blood, and crushed its inhabitants under burdens ever accumulating." --Thomas Jefferson to John Wayles Eppes, 1813. ME 13:272
Saddling Posterity with Debt
"We believe--or we act as if we believed--that although an individual father cannot alienate the labor of his son, the aggregate body of fathers may alienate the labor of all their sons, of their posterity, in the aggregate, and oblige them to pay for all the enterprises, just or unjust, profitable or ruinous, into which our vices, our passions or our personal interests may lead us. But I trust that this proposition needs only to be looked at by an American to be seen in its true point of view, and that we shall all consider ourselves unauthorized to saddle posterity with our debts, and morally bound to pay them ourselves; and consequently within what may be deemed the period of a generation, or the life of the majority." --Thomas Jefferson to John Wayles Eppes, 1813. ME 13:357
"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world." --Thomas Jefferson to A. L. C. Destutt de Tracy, 1820. FE 10:175
"Ought not then the right of each successive generation to be guaranteed against the dissipations and corruptions of those preceding, by a fundamental provision in our Constitution? And if that has not been made, does it exist the less, there being between generation and generation as between nation and nation no other law than that of nature? And is it the less dishonest to do what is wrong because not expressly prohibited by written law? Let us hope our moral principles are not yet in that stage of degeneracy, and that in instituting the system of finance to be hereafter pursued we shall adopt the only safe, the only lawful and honest one, of borrowing on such short terms of reimbursement of interest and principal as will fall within the accomplishment of our own lives." --Thomas Jefferson to John Wayles Eppes, 1813. ME 13:360
A Tax for Every Debt
"It is a wise rule and should be fundamental in a government disposed to cherish its credit and at the same time to restrain the use of it within the limits of its faculties, "never to borrow a dollar without laying a tax in the same instant for paying the interest annually and the principal within a given term; and to consider that tax as pledged to the creditors on the public faith." On such a pledge as this, sacredly observed, a government may always command, on a reasonable interest, all the lendable money of their citizens, while the necessity of an equivalent tax is a salutary warning to them and their constituents against oppressions, bankruptcy, and its inevitable consequence, revolution." --Thomas Jefferson to John Wayles Eppes, 1813. ME 13:269
"Our government has not as yet begun to act on the rule of loans and taxation going hand in hand. Had any loan taken place in my time, I should have strongly urged a redeeming tax." --Thomas Jefferson to John Wayles Eppes, 1813. ME 13:273
"Of the modes which are within the limits of right, that of raising within the year its whole expenses by taxation, might be beyond the abilities of our citizens to bear. It is, moreover, generally desirable that the public contributions should be as uniform as practicable from year to year, that our habits of industry and of expense may become adapted to them; and that they may be duly digested and incorporated with our annual economy." --Thomas Jefferson to John Wayles Eppes, 1813. ME 13:359
"We should now set the example of appropriating some particular tax [for loans made] sufficient to pay the interest annually and the principal within a fixed term, less than nineteen years." --Thomas Jefferson to John Wayles Eppes, 1813. ME 13:273
"Interest, simple or compound, is a compensation for the use of money." --Thomas Jefferson to John Nelson, 1818. ME 18:300
Maintaining Good Credit
"I told... President [Washington] all that was ever necessary to establish our credit was an efficient government and an honest one, declaring it would sacredly pay our debts, laying taxes for this purpose and applying them to it." --Thomas Jefferson: The Anas, 1792. ME 1:319
"The English credit is the first, because they never open a loan without laying and appropriating taxes for the payment of the interest, and there has never been an instance of their failing one day in that payment." --Thomas Jefferson to George Washington, 1788. ME 6:452
"Equal provision for the interest, adding to it a certain prospect for the principal, will give us a preference to all nations, the English not excepted." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1788. ME 6:456
"I deem [this one of] the essential principles of our government and consequently [one] which ought to shape its administration:... The honest payment of our debts and sacred preservation of the public faith. " --Thomas Jefferson: 1st Inaugural, 1801. ME 3:322
"There can never be a fear but that the paper which represents the public debt will be ever sacredly good. The public faith is bound for this, and no change of system will ever be permitted to touch this; but no other paper stands on ground equally sure." --Thomas Jefferson to William Short, 1792. ME 8:317
"It is not our desire to pay off... bills [of exchange in paper money] according to the present depreciation, but according to their actual value in hard money at the time they were drawn, with interest. The State having received value, so far as it is just it should be substantially paid. All beyond this would be plunder, made by some person or other." --Thomas Jefferson to the Virginia Delegates in Congress, 1781. ME 4:390, Papers 5:152
"I once thought that in the event of a war we should be obliged to suspend paying the interest of the public debt. But a dozen years more of experience and observation on our people and government have satisfied me it will never be done. The sense of the necessity of public credit is so universal and so deeply rooted that no other necessity will prevail against it." --Thomas Jefferson to William Short, 1814. ME 14:217
Freeing the Nation from Debt
"I consider the fortunes of our republic as depending in an eminent degree on the extinguishment of the public debt before we engage in any war; because that done, we shall have revenue enough to improve our country in peace and defend it in war without recurring either to new taxes or loans. But if the debt should once more be swelled to a formidable size, its entire discharge will be despaired of, and we shall be committed to the English career of debt, corruption and rottenness, closing with revolution. The discharge of public debt, therefore, is vital to the destinies of our government." --Thomas Jefferson to Albert Gallatin, 1809. FE 9:264
"There [is a measure] which if not taken we are undone...[It is] to cease borrowing money and to pay off the national debt. If this cannot be done without dismissing the army and putting the ships out of commission, haul them up high and dry and reduce the army to the lowest point at which it was ever established. There does not exist an engine so corruptive of the government and so demoralizing of the nation as a public debt. It will bring on us more ruin at home than all the enemies from abroad against whom this army and navy are to protect us." --Thomas Jefferson to Nathaniel Macon, 1821. (*) FE 10:193
"To preserve [the] independence [of the people,] we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our callings and our creeds, as the people of England are, our people, like them, must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses, and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they now do, on oatmeal and potatoes, have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account, but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, 1816. ME 15:39
"No earthly consideration could induce my consent to contract such a debt as England has by her wars for commerce, to reduce our citizens by taxes to such wretchedness, as that laboring sixteen of the twenty-four hours, they are still unable to afford themselves bread, or barely to earn as much oatmeal or potatoes as will keep soul and body together. And all this to feed the avidity of a few millionary merchants and to keep up one thousand ships of war for the protection of their commercial speculations." --Thomas Jefferson to William H. Crawford, 1816. ME 15:29
"Our distance from the wars of Europe, and our disposition to take no part in them, will, we hope, enable us to keep clear of the debts which they occasion to other powers." --Thomas Jefferson to C. W. F. Dumas, 1790. ME 8:47

We are already well on our way there. America, the last vestige of any kind of individual liberty is crumbling before our eyes. The past 18 years alone has seen the growth of tyranny of government and the loss of constitutional liberties. We are paying more and more for less and less for those who won't work, we are seeing our rights trampled on while criminals get away with murder, we see our business system crumble and give way to outsourcing, illegal immigrant job theft, over regulation and over taxation. Our morals have also taken a nose dive. Prop 8 may have passed in California and we may be taking back ground in some places but its still happening elsewhere. The values of the left that came about through the British invation and the hippies lead the way downhill.
Let us disect the meaning of the lyrics of Imagine and let us examined what Lennon stood for. John Lennon as we know was no friend of ours. Lennon was an open and avowed marxist who expressed his hatred for America and freedom and for America's independance. He is also notorious for airing blasphemy against Christ and the bible. He even faced deportation.
The song Imagine expresses just what he stood for:
Imagine there's no heaven,
its easy if you try,
no hell below us,
above us only sky,
imagine all the people, living for today.
In other words, imagine we were not accountable to a supreme being for our actions. Imagine we could go around doing drugs, getting drunk, commiting murder and other evil acts not to mention squandering our futures and our children's futures. Imagine living only for today! Well if there were no God we were accountable we could and avoid the consequences. Well, we ARE accountable to God for what we do in this life. We are required to protect the weak and down trodden, to safeguard liberty, to uphold the value of human life and leave this world as good as if not a better place than before to our descendants. Instead we now have an upayable debt, a nation that is becoming weaker and its all because we are living for today.
Imagine there's no countries,
It isn't hard to do,
nothing to kill or die for
no religion too.
Imagine all the people living life in peace
Imagine no countries. What is a country? A country is defined as a soverign and independant nation. Our country, is not just that but more, it used to be a nation of sovereign and independant individuals! Not anymore. We are no longer independant citizens but becoming world citizens of a worldwide collective. Not a very good one at that. Lennon also makes the mistake of believing that we have wars because of nationalism and religion. That can be a factor but if we look back that isn't the case. In the beginning in the days of Cain and Abel there certainly weren't any major differences like religion or countries, that didn't stop Cain from commiting the first murder.
The soviet Union was one big country without religion yet the governemt killed many people and many people died. Hardly anyone lived life in peace there. So atheism once again proves to be flawed as with Lennon's views.
Imagine no possesions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed no hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world
You can say that Im a dreamer
but Im not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
Imagine no possesions. More like a worldwide collective where the state owns everything and everyone. Just like what Lennon advocates. Ironically Lennon was worth a ton of money when he died so he never practiced what he preached.
Lennon was criticized for his wealth during his Playboy interview but defended himself by pointing out how difficult it is to leave a materialist world behind once you are caught up in it and comparing this to leaving the Beatles:
PLAYBOY: "Why does anyone need $150,000,000? Couldn't you be perfectly content with $100,000,000? Or $1,000,000?"
LENNON: "What would you suggest I do? Give everything away and walk the streets? The Buddhist says 'get rid of the possessions of the mind'. Walking away from all the money would not accomplish that. It's like the Beatles. I couldn't walk away from the Beatles. That's one possession that's still tagging along, right? If I walk away from one house or 400 houses, I'm not gonna escape it."
Then there is his call for a brotherhood of man, where the world is one. Now I would have no problem with that if only the world government that they want us to submit to wasn't so anti freedom and anti Christ. The other problem is man's sinful and fallen nature that hinders this desire. No matter what the left does to obtain utopia on earth it is always a failure.
John Lennon wasn't a Beetle, he was a locust and I imagine there's no leftists, no atheism too where people live life in peace. Thanks to leftists like John Lennon and those who followed him who even now occupy our places of power, we have no peace.

First, concerning the article I wrote about City council woman Esther Kennedy, I don't know her exact party affiliation but its obviously Democrat, because I got a couple messages attacking me over it. They're like, Oh how dare you! Kennedy is a wonderful person! Shame on you you right wing fascists!
Second, my email box that I used for this blog has been overrun with spam and viruses. I don't think I'll be needing it anymore. None the less I got quite a few wonderful letters from the left that I can use in my next post about The tolerance of the left wing. Thanks also to those of you who enjoy my blog and for your letters of solidarity and ecouragement. Good thing I used a library computer and cyber cafe.
Third, I've been banned from a few chat rooms over my condmenation of Ron Paul accepting money from Neo Nazis and others. Guess even The Paulistinians can't be of use either.
Well thats it. Gotta love those Democrats!

Obama's supporters scare me. Here is a comment I just read from this story (the story that Dean Reynolds of CBS wrote about Obama's "stinky" plane etc):
Quote: I support Obama, but I disagree on some major issues. One is that we need to use major authoritarian measures against wingnuts and theocrats to save this country. That in particular includes deprogramming institutions and a Gitmo like camp to deal with the worst wingnuts. These people should be removed from general society and need to be shut up.
I have believed this for years, but the behavior of the wingnuts at the McCain and Palin rallies further underscores the need to take harsh action against these people. Lincoln and FDR had to bend the Constitution at times, and I hope Obama has the guts to do so too to deal with these third rate creatures.

Similarly, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats have tried to bring back an outrageous and equally fascist law called the fairness doctrine. Labeled properly by its opponents as the censorship doctrine, the bill would require that any discussion would require rebuttals with equal time.
At first glimpse many would say, well why not give them equal time? The problem is that rather than just a brief rebuttal, there would have to be a rebuttal with equal time. So for example, a radio network gives Rush Limbaugh one hour to talk about a certain subject, then they would have to give someone such as Al Franken or Amy Goodmen equal time to refute claims. Rush like most conservative pundits is a popular host with many advertisers who in turn bring in revenue for the network. Al Franken, Amy Goodmen and the majority of other liberal pundits are not very popular and therefore are not very profitable.
Faced with six hours of talk radio, half with many advertisers paying for slots on popular radio shows and the other half with few advertisers paying for air time, not to mention the fact they face numerous bills to pay to the government and for licensing and other communist regulations by the FCC, the owners of radio stations and networks would have to replace six hours of talk radio and discussion with six hours of music instead.
Its not just talk radio folks, religious programs would also suffer. A pastor who preaches a 2 hour sermon Christian faith would have to give 2 more to an atheist and vice versa. A civil rights activist preaching equality and justice would have to give equal time to neo nazis and Ku Klux Klansmen. The end result is a loss of free speech and an end to political discussion.
Radio and Television are not the only ones to suffer. It is suggested that this would lead to major regulation of the Internet as well. A blogger paying for a website about America's values of freedom and liberty would have to also pay for a communist liberal to spout his views of bigger government and control over our lives. Doing a website about a new religion, you must give time to a detractor.
There are other problems faced as well with the censorship doctrine. First of all, the doctrine can be selectively enforced. Liberals are not required to give equal time to conservatives but not the other way around. Consider that we the taxpayers pay for PBS and NPR which broadcasts anti Americanism, opposition to the war on terror and supports leftist dictators and Jihadists. There is virtually no opposition.
Second, what if there is no one available or even willing to do a rebuttal? No broadcast then.
Why is Talk Radio so popular?
Liberals just don't seem to get the fact that the reason conservative talk radio is popular because the majority of Americans crave it! No one wants to listen to an anti American Marxist like Amy Goodman denounce her own nation and freedoms that made it great, they want a patriot and someone who understands the virtues that founded this country.
Liberals need to realize that there are many mediums they have access to. They have NPR and PBS, funded by we the taxpayers. Theres also the Internet.
Localism: a back door for fascism
Barack Obama has discussed the use of another method that has not been enforced in 30 years, localism. Localism is the notion that local radio and television stations must meet the needs of the local population, specifically minorities and the poor. That means that communities made up of Democrat Welfare bums can shut up opponents of government waste and corruption in favor of Bolsheviks. A black preacher like Jeremiah Wright can advocate genocide against whites Chicanos and Asians but the later group can't even rebuke him because its "not in the best interest of the community."
On the other hand, Liberals can expect problems trying to broadcast in republican communities like Lubbock Texas, Silver City California, Tupelo Mississippi or Salt Lake city Utah.
The tactic is taken out of the pages of Karl Marx's communist Manifesto. One of his planks was the control by government of communications and publishing. This would ensure total control over the people and they would be forced to read and accept what the state says. The Nazis, (National Socialists)also practiced this. Hopefully we can take back America in 2012 and maybe get rid of the FCC and bring back free speech.

Meet Esther Kennedy. Esther Kennedy was born and raised in Rural New York and moved to the Dover Portsmouth area to work in public schools. She is currently the owner of a Marina called Esther's Marina on 41 Pickering AVE in Portsmouth. She has worked in the special education department in The school systems of Dover and Guilford. She has also worked in Marine affairs and several state wide task force.
Yes! We should believe a typical city politician in a large growing New England city. There is however a dark side.
Esther Kennedy was an employee of the school district of Dover New Hampshire, one of the most corrupt education bureaucracies in America. Dover New Hampshire's schools in the nineties became among the worst in America, despite being majority white and middle class. To this day the school system is one of the worst in the region. One of the ways it became that way due to an influx of failing and delinquent students from Concord and Boston. Perhaps the root of the problem is the corruption of the teachers and staff and the very essence of government funded compulsory education.
This is a system where parents have no say in what goes on or they don't care, where there are no checks and balances and where by law our children are herded like cattle to be indoctrinated, dumbed down, chewed up and spit out! The faculty themselves are out of control and tyrannical. In schools like the ones in Dover, not only are students subjugated to bullying and persecution by other students but the faculty as well. If they ever make it to graduation without being expelled, dropping out or killed, they leave with inadequate skills and knowledge making them ill equipped to enter the real world where they find themselves on welfare or in menial jobs. In the middle school for example, there have been violent incidents. in 1991, a student went around the cafeteria stabbing other students with hypodermic needles.
The biggest victims are those students who suffer from disabilities and who are troubled.
The special education department in New Hampshire schools especially in Dover and surrounding areas leaves much to be desired despite government legislation. It was in this department where Esther Kennedy worked as a special education teacher and it was where she caused great harm to many who she was supposed to help.
One student who we will call Greg was one of those students who suffered. He was victimized, bullied and persecuted by other students and even the teachers such as Esther. He was assigned to special ed because he had ADD. Instead of giving him the help that he needed, she placed him in situations where he suffered harassment. When students on the bus bullied him and spread rumors, a teacher was willing to give him a ride home instead of being subject to danger. Esther Kennedy later forbade them and told Greg he had to ride the bus everyday. She went as far to tell Greg he had never been bullied in his life and that it was his imagination. Two months later, the situation escalated and Greg was thrown off the bus after a violent confrontation with another student. He was later given rides by a family friend. Greg continued to suffer torment as a result of Esther Kennedy's actions until senior year.
Another student was groped in the school store by a homosexual student who worked there. When he attempted to write a letter about it, Kennedy intervened and threatened blackmail by telling other students if he wrote it. Sexual harassment is common in schools such as those in Dover and Portsmouth and the faculty cover it up by attacking the victims. When a scandal was going to erupt concerning yet another incident, Principal Pederson, the former principal transferred Esther Kennedy to the Guilford school district. It is not known what actions she took there.
Unfortunately, no mention of her scandalous past was brought up. The faculty covered it along with other actions, many former students had either left the region or were too scared to bring it up. None the less with New England rushing towards communism it probably would not have made a difference. Hopefully her first term as council woman will be her last.
Esther Kennedy and corruption in our schools is another reason, one of countless others why parents should not put there kids into public school but to choose home school, the loving and merciful option. Unfortunately for many current and former students of violent schools, it is too late.
WHEN PARENTS HAVE NO SAY IN WHAT GOES ON IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, DON'T TAKE CHANCES! CHOOSE HOME SCHOOL! ITS THE LOVING AND MERCIFUL OPTION, AND DAMN THE CONSEQUENCES!

The reality is that whether or not they know it, (believe me they do know) They are doing more to hurt the very people they claim to help. The Working poor. Not only by theft of money but also for theft of freedom and our jobs. They not only want our property, they want our freedom lest anyone would dare speak out.
Look no further than the new communist dictatorship we have in our own US of A than Maine. In Bangor Maine, a socialist fiefdom in central east part of the state, we have those who think its the government's job to take care of everyone, that it is the duty of the government to tell us what to do and how to live our lives. Here there is tolerance for every form of perversity but little tolerance for religious values, for liberty, for guns and for the values of the founding fathers. Portland, Lewiston and Augusta as well to some extent as Brunswick are the only other blocs that rival its liberal agenda. That's not to say there are those who are starting to wake up. But there is much to be done.
The Democrats in Maine like the way things are and want to keep it this way. Maine has the worst business climate in the nation, has lost jobs, has its living costs skyrocket, and has had its liberty trashed. Our jobs have gone overseas and over the state line to New Hampshire, that low tax free state the libs keep saying is a bastion of conservative fascist bigots that no one want to live in despite that it is superior in every way to Maine. Maine is also the poorest state in the region and is 4th poorest in the nation. Michigan, Louisiana, West Virginia and one other state are the only states behind and trails behind Tennessee and Mississippi. Of course liberals like it that way. They can always blame Bush.
But don't you dare speak out as one hard working member of the working poor had done in Bangor. The man who we will call Charles worked at the Edwards Shopnsave in Hampden. He was fired from his job for complaining about the economy and the high tax burden we have. Despite earning food stamps and earning less than $184 a week part of the check is taken out in pay roll taxes. Charles would be making $220 a week but was employed for 32 hours rather than the 40 he used to get since his employer can't afford it thanks to the Democrat tax economy. His wife was unemployed and his kids couldn't get a job either. At customer service where he picked up his check he was conversing to his co-workers about how bad things were. He complained about Baldaci and about the taxes and the economy and how hard things had become.
Well, a woman who had overheard the conversation and who was a Democrat was not too happy with what was said. She decided to leave a message to the manager complaining how offended she was of all that talk about lowering taxes and smaller government and freedom. Sounds just too republican! Well She complained and whined and the next week his manager brought him in and informed him that because he offended a customer with his talk, he was fired. This guy is already dirt poor and receiving hand outs from charity and welfare, now he has no job! Good job liberals! That'll help!
So as we can see, liberals don't care about the poor and the weak. Maybe if this man and his wife were unmarried crack fiends in housing projects and 12 bastards and maybe if he refused to work they'd be more sympathetic? They always are!

With Obama and the Dems taking control, I thought I should bring up an important topic, private property rights and how Democrats plan to use the SSI program in Social security to strip Americans of their assets, homes and even their jobs.
The SSI or Supplemental Security Program was started by Richard Nixon in 1974 to federalize welfare. The SSI program was administered by Social security but the money came out of the general treasury. Originally it was for people who were severely disabled, blind, elderly, and in need. Over the years it has become far more easier for anyone to receive SSI. Simply for having any mild impairment or diagnoses of any "disorder," it is possible to get on. Up until welfare reform in the 90s, even people with a history of substance abuse could qualify. Simply dope up and you re on your way!
The Heritage foundation has described the program up till that time as a black hole. Most who received SSI assistance were perfectly capable of working at very good jobs. In other cases, it has been found that psychiatrists and government workers have been aiding able bodied and minded individuals to get on the program by making up different diagnoses. The American Psychiatry association also has its fingers in the honey pot. Why do you think they make up all these different disorders?
But Getting back on track here, just how will SSI be used to defraud and cast millions into poverty? You see the SSI program has a catch. To qualify, you cannot own money or property worth more than $2000. For married couples, its $3000. That does not include cars, appliances and other items someone might own. People must spend down their assets and sell off or give away their property. What is tragic is that on some occasions they are coerced by family members, the government or public guardians at a loss to the beneficiary. What is even MORE TRAGIC, is that many in the end don't even qualify still and are cast into homelessness.
The level of people being thrown into poverty through confiscation of property and assets has slowly risen. Mary Howe, an elderly woman was one of these victims. Her legal guardian incarcerated her in an institution in Cambria California. She was held there for a year till her assets were spent down. Afterwords she was thrown into the streets. Greg used to have a good job, an apartment and money to spend. His abusive father forced him to go on SSI. He had a history of being abusive. He told Greg he was stupid, had no social skills and that he was an idiot. He also blamed his son for his being raped and abused in public school. He was coerced to go to a doctor who diagnosed him with Asperger's syndrome, a form of Autism that includes inability to communicate, failure to socialise and recognize facial expressions. Greg shared none of those characteristics but according to the DSM-IV, the bible of psychiatric disorders, his past history of being ostracized in school was enough of a criteria. The abuse took its toll on Greg. He lost his job, his father succeeded in getting rid of his assets. But in the end he did not qualify for SSI yet and wound up homeless on LA's skid row for 6 months. He currently lives in Lynwood and his life quality has deteriorated since the incident. He has never recovered financially or emotionally.
Emily was another victim. Since her childhood she has fought hard to overcome her shortcomings and adversity growing up in Chicago's south side. Her father died at the age of 11 and she suffered from Attention deficit disorder, depression and borderline personality disorder. When she was 13, her uncle sexually abused her. At a public school in Chicago Illinois she was denied help with her school work and forced to work harder to keep up. She barely graduated. School doctors diagnosed her and recommended to her mother to apply for SSI. Around the age of 21, she learned she would inherit money from her dead father to go to college. Her mother instead kept the money for herself and applied as rep payee. Emily saw hardly a dime of the money, SSI or inheritance. Emily's mother spent the money on illegal drugs and became an addict. Emily had difficulty finding a job since she had no experience working and her learning disabilities got in the way as well.
Emily wanted to press charges but her boyfriend threatened to murder her if she went to the police. Emily ran away to live in Des Moines Iowa. She wound up homeless there for several months. Her Mother was later arrested for prostitution. Social security found out that she had spent nearly all the money from SSI and her father. They were unable to recover it. Emily was given a rep payee based in Des Moines but this payee abused the funds as well. At first Emily got an apartment but the Payee was delinquent and refused to pay her any money for rent or food. Even her Case worker couldn't help her. Social security also gave her a cold shoulder and refused to help. She later became homeless again and moved to Omaha. Still no one wanted to help her and she later commit suicide.
Just in case you think this can't happen to you dear reader, think again! Hillary Clinton has advocated using SSI to confiscate wealth. Barack Obama may even share the same disposition. Clinton said that we need to take things away from you for the greater good. Barack Obama says lets spread the wealth around. What better way to do it than with SSI and legal guardianship. The motto after all is, Isolate, medicate, take away the estate. Its a dream come true for socialist Democrats all around America. Now that Obama and the Dems are taking over they will probably do everything in their power to force ordinary Americans into the black hole of SSI and strip them of everything they own.
America does not help its poor and weak. It only helps the lazy and degenerate who being pampered become a curse for all. Welfare, social security, SSI, Big government, it is a reflection of our loss of morality which has lead to the loss of our freedom.

2006 and 2008 we lost seats. Now we are really hurting. But who cares? Republicans in office have done next to nothing and do not care about the needs and values of ordinary citizens. Under the republican party, we go downhill slower as they are now a lighter version of the Demonrat party.
There should be a silver lining in this though. Now that Democrats control our house senate and white house, all eyes are on them and it could be useful for them to become a visual aid to what happens when they rule the roost. American voters who are not as privileged as I am to live in a blue state can expect a taste of what life is like under communism.
The signs of fear have already become noticeable. According to an ABC news report, the sales of guns especially assault weapons have skyrocketed. Although Obama claims to support the 2nd amendment and the recent DC V Heller, he also supports assault weapons bans. Many also are not convinced because of a previous voting record in the Senate as well as a questionnaire where he stated he supported gun control. With that in mind, it might be a good idea to lock and load for the counter revolution to depose a leftist dictatorship that may come about as well as a revolution of our own to return America to its founding values of Christian faith, equality and liberty.
I personally say good ridens to the RINOS who lost as well as McSame as Obama. Unfortunately he's still going to be in the senate. Maybe this will jolt some sense into them. However a word of warning to the other RINOS and the Demonrats, there's always 2010.
Those still loyal to republican principles and to the vision of the founders have begun to look forward to the elections of 2010 and 2012. Sarah Palin is already being groomed to run again in 2012 against Obama and Biden and already has a support base. My hearts felt desire is to see her run for the presidency and perhaps see some other men with enough sand to stand up against name calling and political correctness.

Some of the following messages came from Youtube, my email and my blog. I deleted a few of them since they were greatly offensive.
Here is one from a nice wonderful liberal no doubt from Daily Kos or Democratic Underground from firstname.lastname@example.org
BARACK OBAMA IS GOING TO WIN THE ELECTION THIS YEAR! THERE NOTHING YOU CAN DO! HA! HA! HA! BARACK IS GOING TO BE PRESIDENT AND THE MINUTE WHERE ALL IN CHARGE, ALL OF YOU CONSERVATIVES ARE GOING TO BE DEPORTED TO AFGHANISTAN! NO MORE REPUBLICANS! NO MORE RIGHT WING NAZI FASCISTS! WHERE GOING TO SHUT YOU DOWN! YOUR GOING DOWN! DOWN! HA! HA! HA! HA!
No doubt he's been off his meds. As for the accusation of nazi fascist it should be pointed out that fascism is a left wing ideology. Note that he wants to deport anyone who isn't liberal.
Heres one I got from youtube from an Obama supporter. Either that or a Go Pat Go fan named grinko259
You are not a Christian! I visited your blog, you are not a Chrisian, your some kind neo-con Jew Bastard. Go away K**e!
I Am a Christian and My Savior was Jewish. I responded in a similar manner but then he told me:
Jesus was not a Jew! Jesus was an Israelite! He called the Jews sons of Satan which they are! You obviously are Jewish! I can fit your grandma in my ashtray K**E! Not Christian
Well that was the last I heard of him. He probably went back to Stormfront
This next one is pretty, its from another youtuber, a Muslim rag head named MuslimGhost:
I flagged your stupid blog. Death to Jews and Americans! Allahuakhbar!
See, Islam is a religion of peace. They want a piece of all of us!
Heres an email from a kid named Fred Saffouripa from email@example.com
I can't understand why you neo-cons continue to support Bush after all the trouble he's started? I am sad that you would support murdering Arabs and take away our freedom and support a racist state like Israel. Thanks to Bush we have more poverty and and umemployment. Shame on you.
Ignorance is bliss... Its liberals that destroy our freedoms and our economy. BTW Its spelled Unemployment.
And now a liberal message from a terrorist supporter. Unfortunately I lost her name but this moronic liberal loves our enemies.
You are totally ignorant about Iran and your facts! U Need to be educated better! Ahmedinijad is a great man unlike Bush and his racist war mongering supporters! I support him and what he stands for!
I then got another response from one of her friends...
Glad you right wingers are all angry! Ha! Hail Ahmejinidad! I hope Iran kills Bush and then wipes out Isral!
Smell the treason America, expect more if Obama is elected.
Here's another from firstname.lastname@example.org
You need to grow up all of you!
And on to another letter from a canadian from youtube. nuloyvoyal
I just want you to know i agree with Bill Moyers, Hate speech like what goes on in American talk radio and your blog should be outlawed and punished. You should have no right to say the kind of things you say about people's political views. Its one thing to criticise government, its another to attack other people's character. I support Barack Obama and Jeremiah Wright.
Just get a gander at the hypocrisy. Dissent against the war they say is going to be made treason but dissent against government? Don't you dare. Also note how he condemns me but supports Obama's racist pastor.
Here's one more. Its from email@example.com. (NICE!)
Im gonna rob and kill you b***H!
Really? How is that? You don't believe in carrying guns but I do. What are you going to use? Harsh Language?
Thats just a taste of what I found in my mailbox and on youtube. Hope you enjoyed it because if Obama gets in your going to see much more of it.

If you question someones beliefs or motives you are considered a bigot. But what IS a bigot? Lets see what the Merriam Webster Dictionary has to say:
Main Entry: big·ot
Etymology: French, hypocrite, bigot
: a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices ; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance
— big·ot·ed \-gə-təd\ adjective
— big·ot·ed·ly adverb
So as we can see, a bigot is anyone who is extremely intolerant of anyone Else's views of their own. With that in mind, lets take a look at the people throwing this word around...
Consider that liberals oppose the first amendment. They believe that anyone who does not agree with their world view promotes hate speech. In liberal Europe, hate speech is illegal. If a Muslim blows himself up and kills children and then someone points to intolerance in the Koran, it is a hate crime. No one attacks anyone however for saying anything about Christians. Christians are constantly ridiculed in the media and vilified. Why are they not bigots for doing this?
Another example is the homosexual agenda. To point of health concerns no matter how intellectual or how concerned. It is hate speech! Liberals will run around whining and complaining. Meanwhile, homosexuals say some of the worst things towards those who are heterosexuals. Heterosexuals are called derogatory names such as breeders. In addition, hate crimes are made against churches and other places. There have been calls by homosexuals to poison the world blood supply with AIDS for example.
Liberals do not like it when other people express their views. In addition take a look at the Internet and the media and we see more intolerance of all things American, Christian, Jewish, European, Catholic, Orthodox, Lutheran ETC. If you make a video on YouTube promoting European culture or Christianity, expect trouble. Either you will see nasty comments praising terrorism and Marxism and condemning you as a Nazi or your video will be banned outright. Own a website promoting conservatism, small government or national security? NOT FOR LONG!! Liberals work to ban websites and flag them as spam or as hate speech websites.
Liberals are intolerant of American freedom and capitalism. They want communism, totalitarian control and atheism. Homeschooling, free markets ETC are favorite targets of the left. They want to impose their sick twisted views on others. We saw this up front when California tried to ban Homeschooling. Parents are not allowed to teach their children, they must be herded into government indoctrination centers or what we call schools and force fed political correctness, Darwinism, whiteness studies (the belief that all white people are evil and that white European culture and history is revolting)atheism, Marxism and blind obedience to BIG Government.
Speech isn't only under assault, the press is also under attack. In Universities and schools throughout the nation, radical leftist students attack presses run by conservative students. Think back to what happened in Columbia 2 years ago... Radical left wing student supporters of illegal alien law breakers shut down a speech by Jim Gilchrist. They even tried to trump him on false charges of assault, never mind that they assaulted him as well as college republicans that tried to defend him.
This is not the first time we have seen the hatred of liberals. In a future article I intend to share the stories of counter-revolution in the sixties by veterans of that struggle. Think hippies were vegans long haired pot smokers who preached peace and let it hung out? You are wrong. These people were intolerant of any view and were violent. They said they were going to tear down the establishment. They used violence and intimidation.
Liberals as we have seen are huge bigots. They are intolerant of just about everything. Forget what you heard about Christian right wing bible thumpers, creationists or politicians. If you want intolerance and hate, go to a work shop by socialists or an anti war rally. So much hate that even the KKK wouldn't want to touch it.

In 2006 and 2007 the property crime rate rose higher than that of Lubbock Texas as did its violent crime rate. There were more homicides in the Bangor Metropolitan area than Lubbock, a city with a far larger population and that ten years ago was notorious for having a higher crime rate. Crime in Texas metroplexes like Lubbock have dropped but in Maine, they got higher. Property crime has especially soared.
What is the state to do? A friend of mine told me about a Korean deli owner in New York City who faced similar problems. If the Chicken salad starts to turn, don't throw it out, just add more mayo. When Communist welfare policies attract felons from the inner city, add more communism. Higher crime, poverty, MORE COMMUNISM! This is how Maine has handled all of its problems in the past so we should not be surprised to hear that things have gotten worse.
And its not just crime, services have been burdened among them, schools. Despite massive spending on state and federal levels, Maine's youth are falling behind the rest of the country. Of course with a population influx of new welfare recipients we should not be surprised. The education system was one of the major influences that prevented the successful passing of TABOR in 2006, that along with votes from welfare hogs and Marxist college students.
So what is the solution to these two major problems of crime and education? Taking away the rights of innocent citizens. Maine's Demonrat state legislature wants to strip honest law abiding citizens of their rights to own and keep arms. The good news is that Maine's blue collar Democrats are adamantly against gun control laws. Maine also has hunters come all around the nation. Although leftists have tried to restrict gun possession, they have had little success.
Consider the following:
Concerning education there have been two points, one of course is raising taxes. (AGAIN) But what is also shocking is an idea that is even worse... Ban homeschooling.
It has been something that has been considered by the Maine legislature for several years. Although rarely discussed there have been murmurings. The state of Maine has been for several years a haven for home school parents. But given its liberal leanings, that could change. Several editorials in Left wing anti American newspapers In eastern Maine, in particular the Bangor Daily news and the Ellsworth [anti] American have criticized homeschooling and have either advocated restrictions against home school families or that it should be outright abolished. Not only that, but even private schooling in a parochial or private institution is considered unlawful and unacceptable!
Though few, activities by the left to intimidate and persecute home school families have taken place. In Augusta Maine, a school superintendent wrote a letter claiming that Homeschoolers were less likely to find a job. This is simply not true. In fact Homeschoolers were over 73% more likely to be employed than those who were dumbed down in public school. They are also more likely to go on to college or university and become employed at a highly qualified job. In another incident, a superintendent at another district began mailing letters to parents of children including home school children demanding confidential information. The Home school Legal Defense fund put a stop to that.
Perhaps two incidents were found to be more alarming. One was an incident involving a man who made phantom phone calls to parents asking them about corporal punishment and if they attended church. In another incident, a man impersonating a truant officer approached a mother and her home school daughter in public and threatened to arrest them.
Let us ask ourselves, our schools are failing, they cannot teach, they turn our students into morons and low wage earners, the schools are expensive and overburdened and overcrowded so we keep hearing from the left, so why? Why do we want to take away parent's options? Why do we want to prevent parents from teaching their children at home? Why burden down the school system even more?
None the less, There have been few incidents and in fact over the years there have been progress. Even the most leftist politicians have sided with home school families. Governor Baldacci signed several bills protecting the rights of homeschoolers yet there is still a long way to go. We the few conservatives left in Maine must stay vigilant and keep our eyes peeled.

This October was the 437th anniversary of a forgotten yet crucial battle in the defense of western civilization called the battle of Lepanto. It is the victory of this battle that is the reason we are living in a free nation rather than an Islamic style dictatorship. It is why we are still Christian and not Muslim. It is the reason for the existence of America as it is as a free nation. (Though now and days it is not that free.)
In 1571, The Turkish Ottoman empire was the superpower of the day. On land, the armies of the Turks, powered by slave soldiers known as Janisaries and with advanced weaponry and artillery carved its way through the Slovaks and eventually would reach the gates of Vienna. On the sea, Turkish galleys, powered by Captured Christian slaves devastated mercantile commerce and raided coastal cities throughout the Mediterranean. Europe meanwhile remained divided and at war over territory and religion. Spain, the leading European power had recently overcome the Moors in the Reconquista and was expanding into the Americas. Venice was the commercial capital of Europe and held a monopoly over Mediterranean trade. At the papal states, Pope Pius V ruled over the Catholic nations of Europe, but it was threatened by the protestant reformation. In France, conflicts were breaking out, Britain was still a poor backward country that had become the cradle of Protestantism and waged piratical war against the Spanish and Portuguese trade in the new World.
What the Pope dreaded more was the spread of Islam by the sword over Europe. Over thirty years ago, Turkey laid siege to Malta and was narrowly driven back by an army of Crusader Knights and peasants. The stories of atrocities committed by the Turks ran shock waves throughout Europe. In 1570, the island of Cyprus was under siege by the Turks and would eventually fall 10 months later. Its commander, the Venetian Marcantonio Bragadino made a truce with the Turks for safe conduct of his army away from Cyprus when defeat was imminent. Marcantonio Bragadino however was unaware of the Islamic doctrine of Al-Taqyat, or lying for Allah. The Muslims violated the truce as soon as the gates opened, and the army of Greek and Venetian defenders were captured.
Michael Novak, esteemed historian and theologian documented what had happened afterwards, that Marcantonio Bragadino was tied to a pole stripped naked and his nose and ears were cut off and was humiliated in various ways. In the end he was skinned alive. It was stuffed with hay and kept in the sultan's quarters as a trophy. the Turks then slaughtered many of the inhabitants, forcing them to convert to Islam. The Men were taken to be slaves on galleys, the women and children taken away to be slaves in the Harem. The old and weak were killed.
Emboldened, the Ottomans repeated this in Greece and elsewhere. Pope Pius V, had attempted to unite Europe against the Turks by forming a Holy League. The League, a precursor to Nato would strive off the Turks. Time and time again he failed but with the fall of Cyprus and increased attacks the League began to come about. In addition to this, spies had uncovered a ghastly plot by the Turkish Armada lead by Ali-Pasha to invade Italy. With the help of Don Juan of Austria and son of the Holy Roman Emperor who would be destined to lead the attack, The League came together. the Holy League consisted of Spain, Venice, Savoy Sicily, Malta and Genoa. The Vatican was the head of the alliance. Admiral marcantonio Colona was commissioned by the pope to run the fleet. Colona had been a veteran of the war in Cyprus and was one of the few to escape. He was ordered by the Pope to set up an armada in the name of the cross. This was to be a holy war. A war to save Europe from the clutches of Islamic imperialism.
But the Holy League did not rely on God alone. In Venice and elsewhere, new innovations in naval warfare were being constructed. Among these was the Gallease, a new galley warship that was large with mounted swivel cannons. Its height made it resistant to boarding and its new cannons made it devastating. The Turks, though outnumbering the Holy League 3 to 1 could not keep up with the European mode of invention.
In the end, Don Juan and Colona orgonized 206 galleys and 6 galleases. This fleet of the Christian alliance was manned by 12,920 sailors. In addition, it carried almost 28,000 fighting troops: 10,000 Spanish regular infantry of excellent quality, 7,000 German and 6,000 Italian mercenary, and 5,000 Venetian soldiers. Also, Venetian oarsmen were mainly free citizens and were able to bear arms adding to the fighting power of their ship, whereas slaves and convicts were used to row many of the galleys in other Holy League squadrons. Don Juan had also promised the galley rowers who were criminals their freedom if they succeeded.
The Ottomans armada consisted of 222 war galleys, 56 galleys, and some smaller vessels. The Turks had skilled and experienced crews of sailors, but were somewhat deficient in their elite corps of Janissaries. They made up for it with 13,000 sailors and 34,000 soldiers. The slaves below were mainly Christian prisoners of War, some from the recent conquest of Cyprus. An important and arguably decisive advantage for the Christians was their numerical superiority in guns and cannons aboard their ships. It is estimated the Christians had 1,815 guns, while the Turks had only 750 with insufficient ammunition. They instead trusted on Bowmen.
The Holy fleet departed from the Greek Island of Corfu and made its way to the gulf of Lepanto. Ali Pasha was very confident of victory and brought with him his entire fortune including his Harem. The two forces met on October 7th 1571. Don Juan began by sailing his Gallease at full speed towards the heart of the Ottoman armada, breaking it in half. The other galleases were placed in the front and used to attack the enemy galleys sinking two initially. The vast majority of fighting however involved boarding other ships. Witnesses stated that the sea was blood red from the fighting. there were also dead bodies and turbans floating in the water. One of the biggest advantages to the outnumbered Christians was the christian slaves aboards the Turkish galleys. Sensing their chance for freedom, most of them joined the fighting, using their chains as weapons.
During the course of the battle, the Ottoman Commander's ship was boarded and the Spanish tercios from 3 galleys and the Turkish janissaries from seven galleys fought on the deck of the Sultana. Twice the Spanish were repelled with great loss, but at the third attempt, with reinforcements, they prevailed. Ali Pasha was killed and beheaded, against the wishes of Don Juan. However, when his head was displayed on a pike from the Spanish flagship, it contributed greatly to the destruction of Turkish morale. Even after the battle had clearly turned against the Turks, groups of Janissaries still kept fighting with all they had. It is said that at some point the Janissaries ran out of weapons and started throwing oranges and lemons at their Christian adversaries, leading to awkward scenes of laughter among the general misery of battle.
The battle concluded around 4 pm. The Turkish fleet suffered the loss of about 210 ships of which 117 galleys, 10 galliots and three fustas were captured and in good enough condition for the Christians to keep. On the Christian side 20 galleys were destroyed and 30 were damaged so seriously that they had to be scuttled. One Venetian galley was the only prize kept by the Turks; all others were abandoned by them and recaptured. The Holy League had suffered around 7,500 soldiers, sailors and rowers dead, but freed about as many Christian prisoners. Turkish casualties were around 25,000, and at least 3,500 were captured.
The engagement was a crushing defeat for the Ottomans, who had not lost a major naval battle since the fifteenth century. To half of Christendom, this event encouraged hope for the downfall of Islam which they regarded as the "Enemy of the Christian." Indeed, the Empire lost all but 30 of its ships and as many as 30,000 men, and some Western historians have held it to be the most decisive naval battle anywhere on the globe since the Battle of Actium of 31BC.
The Ottomans ships were easily replaced, yet it proved much harder to man them, since so many experienced sailors, oarsmen and soldiers had been lost. Especially critical was the loss of most of the Empire's composite bowmen and jannisaries which, far beyond ship rams and early firearms were the Ottoman's main embarked weapon. Historian John Keegan notes that the losses in this highly specialised class of warrior were irreplaceable in a generation, and in fact represented the death of a living tradition for the Ottomans. Convicts also replaced Christians in the galleys.
In Europe, news of the victory was met with great jubiulation. Throughout Europe, church bells tolled and there were great celebrations. The victory had been greater than any had hoped for. Following the battle theren were plans by the vatican to invade Turkey herself, unfortunately, the nations of the holy league once again began to fight amongst each other and plans were abandoned. After Lepanto the Holy League and other nations and alliances fought further wars and conflicts against Islamic Turkey. Some were victories, some defeats.
Efforts by archeologists to dig up the remains of Lepanto have unfortunately met with disappointment. The area where much of the battle was fought had receeded. The coast moved outward. Much of the battle is now farm land. Other coastal sites have been disturbed over the centuries by Greek fishing trollers. Although some wrecks were found by German and Spanish Archeologists.
Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, the man who would later write Don Quixote participated in the battle of Lepanto. He lost an arm in the battle and was captured by Algerian corsairs years later where he spent 5 years as a slave before being ransomed. The events of Don Quixote such as the freeing of galley slaves were inspired by Lepanto.
The Catholic church has declared October 7th as the feast of Lepanto. Many devout Catholics give thanks to Pope Pius V who was cannonised a saint in 1712.

The first choice you are forced to make if there is no God, you are forced to mistake man to be God.
Ravi Zacharias in a two part series, "WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THE FUNERAL OF GOD?" examines the consequences of living in a philosophy of atheism and relativism. Based on Luke 12:13, We learn the end results which we are experiencing today.

Take a good look at this new video out on YouTube about obama messiah. Its another example of fascism in America under the Democrats if Obama is elected God forbid!
This woman from Lufkin Texas recieved a phone call from a campaign supporter who asked her to support the Obama campaign. She spoke her mind telling her no, that Obama was a socialist who murders babies. Which of course he is. The next day, secret service agents came to this woman's door to accuse her of making death threatst towards Obama! They had no evidence, no tape, but they did have a file on her! A file! One of these agents was rude and accused her of being rude and then demanded to know what she thought of Obama.
This is just a taste of what's coming to America if Obama is elected, fascism pure and uncut.

— Barack Obama, Speech in Iowa City, IA, May 29, 2007
Barack Hussein Obama, the Democratic candidate for president along with his running mate Joe Biden have a new health care plan for America. Obama has tried to quell fears of higher taxes, socialized medicine and unregulated insurance companies denying coverage in a commercial where he called them both extremes. The truth is that Obama's plan is a milder extreme than say Hillary Care. Hillary Clinton you may remember opted for a mandatory health care system in which nearly all Americans, even Americans making 25000 a year would be required to have health insurance or have their wages taken away even if they could not find health care. Mitt Romney had a similar program in Massachusetts which was a disaster for the states economy and middle class.
Health care costs are skyrocketing and Health insurance premiums have risen 4 times faster than wages over the past 6 years. Too little is spent on prevention and public health: The nation faces epidemics of obesity and chronic diseases as well as new threats of pandemic flu and bio terrorism. Yet despite all of this less than 4 cents of every health care dollar is spent on prevention and public health and companies are out of control.
Barack Obama's plan sounds nice at first, coverage for all, no being denied coverage due to a pre-existing condition, cheap, affordable coverage for all. But then you get down to it there are hidden costs...
Obama and Biden's health care plan would require mandatory coverage for children. Obama would raise taxes to pay for coverage, which would destroy our already faltering economy. It would pay for socialized medicine. Obama however plans to expand the SCHIP program which would require new spending. We the people would pay for it. Higher taxes, more spending, more waste. Fewer jobs, fewer economic opportunities for the already poor.
Obama's plan is rumored to also entail mandatory mental health care and screening for all. Those who hold to differing political viewpoints or beliefs or who are of certain standing could be branded mentally ill and subject to forced drugging with toxic psychmeds or incarceration in institutions. They would also be banned from owning a firearm to defend themselves and families.
It is another big step towards national health care coverage similar to those in Canada and Europe. These national health care groups lead to overwhelming burdens on the sick, through an obstructive, bloated and ineffective bureaucracy. Many have been made sicker. There have been many horror stories of people left in long lines to die, the weak, elderly and sick being euthanized rather than leaving them to be treated. (Its cheaper too!) In addition, abortions of weak and sick babies in Spartan fashion. (Cheaper to kill them then bring them up!) Worst yet is that obama's plan along with his other plans is another step in the direction of socialism for America.

I have unfortunately been busy at home and the job as well as several other things of private matter concerning events in Maine and elsewhere. Not to worry, as I have promised several new articles coming.
Margaret Manning writes of the times we live in using the climax of Lord of the Rings. The young hobbit, Frodo, laments the world he sees around him with all the tragedy and darkness that has befallen him. Looking at the difficulty in continuing on his quest to destroy the Ring. Frodo is overwhelmed. Gandalf the wizard his wise mentor, consoles him with these words: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring, in which case you were also meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought."
Frodo's journey is to destroy the ring in Mt Doom to defeat Sauron by tossing the Ring into the fire to save the Middle Earth. This is a difficult quest for Frodo and his companions. If you recall in the book and especially in the movie you see the burden in Frodo's eyes as he fights to save the world from Sauron and preven the ring from being lost to Sauron.
At the same time we are reminded of the prayer of Jesus in John 17 15:18. Jesus Christ is burdened with the task before him and his fate. So to did the followers and new converts. Manning then writes "Like Frodo and the other members of the Fellowship of the Ring, we can so easily look around us and see the peril of the journey in this world. Our desire to avoid difficulty and pain, and our longing for another kind of world often distracts us from doing God’s work in God’s world, regardless of the times at hand. Yet, our longings for what is good, beautiful, and right for our world do not have to lead us to flights of fantasy, or to wishful thinking. Rather, our longing for a better world should compel us to action as witnesses to the gospel as the force of good for our world. Indeed, our longings can lead us to decide what we can do to make the best of the times we’ve been given.
Indeed how we are all burdened and yet distracted by the distractions of the world as well as our tasks. One would like to hide from evil in fantasy and in indulgences of the world. In this time we face the evil of terrorism, of liberalism. Whether its al-qaeda, Barack Obama, Code Pink, ETC.
Only God almighty can heal us from the burdens of our tasks whether in daily life or from our mandate to witness and rescue the poor.

A video from the website Jews against Obama about the root of the crisis.
Keep note that some of the rhetoric is controversial but as Chaim mentioned Affirmative action IS racist. Its not because of race its because of socialism. A lot of minorities are suffering thanks to Obama and Clinton and this loan scam.
